About our mates....
Mates that work
for Reel Fun Sportfishing do many things before, during and after your
trip. They are at the
boat an hour before you arrive cutting bait and getting the boat, rods, reels
and rigs ready for your trip.
They also check all the safety gear before we depart. During our trip, their
job is to untangle lines,
re-rig fouled or nicked tackle, cut additional bait, nets the fish that YOU
hook and reel in and give you pointers on how to catch your fish properly.
They are also in charge of keeping the deck of the boat clean. And once we
return to port, your mate will fillet, ice down and bag all your fish fillets.
Above all, they instruct you on how to catch that fish that's waiting for
you under the boat. As an added bonus, they are boat owners and avid fisherman
too. Catching fish and enjoying the day safely on the water is what
we are all about.
And finally, lets talk about how the mates make a living. Mates work very hard for you. You'll see once you spend the day with us. It's a tough job! The majority of their pay comes from your generosity in the form of a gratuity at the end of our trip. How hard they worked for you is up to you to determine. Generally speaking, mates work for 15% to 20% of the total cost of the charter.
Just a side note: On many occasions, the customers loved their mates so much, they requested him to do their charter again. Once my mates build a rapport with you, they usually get assigned to you again on your return trips. As they say in business, you're only as good as the people that surround you.
My mates are great and after fishing with Reel Fun Sportfishing you'll
see why. Refer to: Testamonials
